Jaguar's Newest Sport Sedan Set to Come Stateside in 2016

2016 Jaguar XE U.S. Release Date

Just last year, Jaguar unveiled the C-X17, the first sport crossover ever made by the automaker. Although the C-X17 was just a concept car, it has now been announced that a production model based on the conceptual design of the C-X17--the Jaguar XE--will be coming to the states in 2016. We're still a ways away from the 2016 Jaguar XE U.S. release date, but we have a few ideas about what can be expected.

As we're still a little less than two years away from getting the Jaguar XE near Crestwood IL, we're not too sure how many of the features in the production model will be carried over from the C-X17 concept, but we fully expect the flexible all-aluminum architecture to be incorporated on the XE. By utilizing the lightweight yet durable metal, the XE will drop a great deal of weight, helping to increase fuel efficiency.

Jaguar has been pretty tight-lipped about the specifics of the XE, and as there were no announcements of powertrain options when the C-X17 was unveiled, we're not too sure what will be found under the hood. Rumor has it that the 2016 Jaguar XE will get a supercharged V6 and a forced-induction four-cylinder, both of which would provide the larger sport sedan with the power that is expected of Jaguar models.

There is also talk of an all-wheel drive system, but as of right now, everything about the 2016 Jaguar XE is just speculation.
